missing in action

My blog is crying because I've been neglecting it so badly!! It's gotten progressively worse as the weather warms up.  I mean, how could you blame a girl though?! Anytime I get a hot second to myself now I just want to spend it outside.

I had a post set up LAST last Tuesday and never got around to posting it.  I'm not really sure why, considering all I had to do was click "publish" (laziness at its finest?).

Okay so life lately? Let's see...

// A few weeks ago, Kristi and I went down to Annapolis to visit Katie!  Her family adopted a new puppy and she's the cutest!  Don't let her looks fool you though, she's a little demon baby. We tried to catch some fresh blue crabs for dinner but didn't have much luck.  We were lucky that a few had wandered into the cages before we even got there!

// Kevin and I went golfing at a place near his house.  I hadn't been since the first few times he had taken me when we were still at Salisbury.  Even though it felt blazing hot out, it was a great day to play!  I definitely think I'm improving, I can actually drive the ball now. 

// I had a few job interviews last week in the DC/VA area.  I decided to walk around at Tyson's corner since I'm never around.  I stopped at Elevation Burger for a late lunch and now I'm wondering why I hadn't gone there sooner, especially considering the fact that there's one right in Frederick.  I got the Burger wrapped in good.

// (can you see that most of my life involves food?) Watermelon margaritas and guacamole with the boy at our favorite place, La Paz.  

// I've pretty much been living off of this oatmeal bake, thanks to Kevin's mom for giving me the recipe.  I eat it for breakfast or snacks and I love it because you can pretty much take it on the go.  Here's the recipe I use:

1 1/2 cups 2% low-fat milk

2 eggs, lightly beaten

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vanilla 
2 1/2 cups Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned). uncooked
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt

Then I just put it in a 9x9 glass pan with some Pam and bake for about 35 mins at 350 simple! I like to add chocolate chips and raspberries to it for sweetness though, because I don't add any sugar to the recipe.

// I dyed my hair extensions that I bought back in February so that they would better match my natural hair color.  My hair lightened dramatically from the sun and my close-to-black hair extensions just weren't cutting it.  So I took a risk and used a box dye on them.  Result: it totally worked!  I'm thrilled I didn't have to spend $100+ at a salon for something that was so easy to do at home.

Oh, did I mention our new house has a pool in the backyard? It's not completely ready yet, but this week we have been skimming it out and filling it with water.  All we need it the new filter to be replaced and then it will be ready for pool party season!
